Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a condition in which men have difficulty achieving an erection.

There is a growing number of treatments, all with side effects and possible complications, and it is difficult to know just what option to try first. Strangely, one of them comes from a surprising type of treatment – stem cell therapy.

Stem Cell Therapy Treats ED?

Research shows that 80% of ED cases are due to organic abnormalities, and a majority of those are vascular in nature, that is, blood flow.

In a recent study, adult mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) were harvested from a group of subjects experiencing ED. The cells were then injected into the penis. The result … a majority of patients reported significant improvement achieving an erection, and almost half reporting sustained improvement 12 months after the treatment.

It is also inferred from the study that men who do not completely recover from ED as a result of stem cell therapy may benefit even more when combined with other non-invasive treatments, such as medication.

If ED is an issue with you or someone you know, it is advisable to seek an evaluation by someone trained in stem cell therapy.
